Most of our teachers have Waldorf teacher training in addition to undergraduate or postgraduate degrees, and varied teaching and life experiences. Teachers, who are in daily contact with the children, have the ability to respond directly to student needs and parent concerns. They strive to connect with each family, building a network of support for each child. Teachers maintain open communication with parents through regular class meetings and email. If a parent has any concerns about their child, it is best to first approach the child’s Class Teacher with this concern.

Raelee Peirce

Raelee Peirce is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and, although she has lived out West and up North, thinks of herself as a North Carolinian. Barbara Holloway
Director of Marketing • 919-480-1026 • bholloway@emersonwaldorf.org
Barbara Holloway discovered Waldorf Education when she was working in high-tech Marketing and seeking childcare for her as yet unborn daughter, Alexa. She wanted to make sure that the childcare she chose would align well with Alexa’s future educational path. Nineteen years and four children later, Barbara is thrilled to merge her marketing experience with her teaching experience in Benin, West Africa, her International MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management (aka Thunderbird), and her BA in Economics and German from UNC-Chapel Hill to spread the word about Emerson Waldorf School. Beyond EWS, Barbara enjoys running cross-country with her dog, motorcycling, indulging in good food, wine, and music – but mostly, she just likes witnessing the miracles of nature quietly unfold throughout the seasons.
