The Morning Garden program will provide a supportive environment for parents to explore the joys and challenges of raising young children, to learn simple crafts, stories and songs or to simply observe babies in movement, or toddlers in play and social interaction. A snack will be prepared and enjoyed by all. We will learn from sharing our insights and observations, as well as having readings and discussions of articles that explain the Waldorf approach toward the young child.
Program Information: Our Parent-Child Program is designed to meet the social needs of the young child (birth to 2.5 years) while providing loving support for parents. It is led by one of our Early Childhood teachers one morning a week (view Program Details) for 12 weeks in the Fall Semester and again in the Spring Semester. One adult per family attends with the young child each week; (parents, grandparents, and caregivers may take turns bringing the child to the program should this be a desire of the family.)
We offer two classes each semester: 8 spots in each class. In the next session, Spring 2014, starting January 31, 2014 we will have a mixed-aged group for 0-30 month olds and their caregivers and a class for 18-30 month olds and their caregivers. You will be able to select which class your child will be ready for when the session begins on the online registration form.
The teacher will join with parents striving to create a warm, nurturing environment that seeks to surround the child with rhythm, reverence and adult gestures worthy of imitation.
