Week I: June 16-20
Knights and Fairies, ages 6-9 [FULL]
Explore the wonders of the forest through imaginary play, story, arts & crafts and song with EWS after school teacher/artist/singer-songwriter, Shannon O’Connor.
Herbal Camp for Boys and Girls, ages 10-13 [FULL]
Enjoy fun and challenging scavenger hunts, create homemade lotions, soaps and salves and handmade plant identification books with scientist/herbalist Tina Stevens.
All Creatures Great and Small, ages 6-9 [FULL]
Children intuitively understand the magic and wonder of the natural world. Through imaginative play, guided exploration, art and story, Lisa Damian, EWS Life Science teacher will playfully and reverently engage your children to deepen their relationship and awareness of the special trees, plants, animals and birds that share our world.
Music for Everyone, ages 10-13
This fun and relaxing camp will cover all the “camp-classics”, including silly songs, rounds and home made instruments. Award winning singer-songwriter, Shannon O’Connor will teach how to write songs as well as form a merry band!
Improvisational Theater, ages 12-15
Study theater and have fun with improvisation. Veteran actress and improviser, Lisa Klein can show you the techniques to broaden your stage experience, help you deal with jitters/volume/confidence and show you how to have a great time acting!
Week III June 30-July 4
Fortmaking and Fantasy Worlds, ages 6-9 [FULL]
The natural world is ever ready to engage us and embrace us. By fostering awareness and stewardship through exploration, art and journal making, Lisa Damian, EWS Movement and Life Science teacher will encourage students toward a deeper relationship and awareness of the special forms of life that weave the web of our existence. This week of camp is especially designed for middle school aged people who enjoy being in the natural world and want to explore their own reasons for going to the woods.
Native American Traditions, ages 6-9 [FULL]
Learn simple, healthy and delicious recipes to make at camp and home. Create beadwork, weavings, beautiful pinch pots and figurines reminiscent of Native American traditions with EWS after school teacher/artsist, Shannon O’Connor.
Hike in the woods, explore forest ecology and transform natural timber into practical woodworking projects ( and large forts!) with EWS Fine Arts teacher/musician and puppeteer, Nathaniel Williams. (This camp runs 2 consecutive weeks)
Woodworking pt. 2, ages 10-13
Color and Clay, ages 10-13
Enjoy a rich week of painting, drawing, illustration and form with EWS Fine Arts teacher, Nathaniel Williams. Diverse artistic activities will draw inspiration from being outside together as well and stories and songs that Nathaniel will share.
