After School Program

The Emerson Waldorf School offers an After School Program for all students grades 1-8, until 6:00 pm on all school days except the four Assembly Days. Please click here for fees and the application form for 2010-11.

Sports Teams

EWS has a variety of sports teams for Grades 6 and above, which practice and compete after school. Cross-country is offered in the Fall, basketball in the winter, and other teams, such as Ultimate Frisbee, develop according to the interests of the students.

                             

  

     

Music Ensembles

ewsjazz2-web.jpgMusic extra-curricular activities generally take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and are open to students from 6th grade and up. These options include smaller instrumental ensembles such as string quartets and instrumental chamber groups, a jazz club, and a folk music club and string band for guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and bass players.  The bands and ensembles also perform several times a year at various venues such as the Shakori Hills Grassroots festival, Chapel Hill/Carrboro Community Dinner, at Retirement Homes and for charity benefits.

After-School Clubs

Afters-school clubs for Middle and High School students vary according to the interests of the students and may include German Club, French club, Robotics club, Drama Club, Film Club, Chess Club, Yearbook, School Newspaper or other activities initiated by the students.
