Situated on 54 beautiful acres of forest, fields, and streams in Chapel Hill, NC and just 20 minutes from downtown Durham, Hillsborough, and RDU Airport, our classrooms, studios, outdoor theater, athletic fields, and biodynamic farm provide an ideal environment for learning.
The campus offers space for play, student community service and gardening projects, or simply a quiet walk through the woods. Community events, such as festivals, concerts, plays, lectures, and adult education classes create an atmosphere of cultural enrichment.
The Main Office is located in the 1st Lower School building just before the Shell Garden where the flow form fountain resides. Park in the parking lot closest to the Lower School Playground and enjoy taking in our beautiful campus and awesome playground as you stroll along the path to the end of the fence.
The Nursery is the first building on the right just above the Early Childhood parking lot. Turn into the last driveway entrance, follow it past The Cottage, up the hill, and park in the lot on the right.

The Kindergarten is the building on the left just above the Early Childhood parking lot. Turn into the last driveway entrance, follow it past The Cottage, up the hill, and park in the lot on the right. The Kindergarten entrance is in the back of the building, just by the playground.
Grades 1-4 are located in the building closest to the parking lot. Grades 5-8 are in the next building, just after the beautiful Shell Garden. Park in the parking lot closest to the Lower School Playground and enjoy a stroll along the beautiful pathway.
& Brown Wing
The High School, including the Brown Wing, is located at the pinnacle of the campus. Take the last driveway entrance, follow it past The Cottage, up the hill, and park in the large parking lot. Follow the raised path on the left side of the parking lot to the High School building. The Brown Wing is the large room on the left side of the building where many large events are held, including Waldorf Education Day, Senior Projects, and Grandparent's and Special Friends Day.
Our stunning outdoor theater is home to many class plays, our beginning and end-of-year Rose Ceremonies, our Michaelmas and Lantern Walk programs, High School Best in Show, and much more. Turn into the last driveway entrance, follow it past The Cottage, up the hill, and park in the large parking lot. Follow the raised walkway on the left side of the lot. You'll find the Hinoki Theater behind the High School Building.
The EWS Farm is located behind our Athletic Field and across the street from Spence's Farm on Millhouse Road. Just pull into the parking lot and enjoy connecting with the chickens, bees, goats, and sheep. Make sure to explore the large biodynamic garden and greenhouse, and feel free to pull a few weeds while you're there!
