Mrs. Ziegler discovered Waldorf Education online while searching for a pedagogy that values holistic child development. While visiting EWS for Waldorf Education Day in 2009, she immediately knew the school was the right fit for her daughter. After attending two Triangle Home Nurseries, they enrolled at EWS for 1st grade in 2011. In 2013, she began assisting Ms Kubik with Handwork lessons while completing her certification in the Applied Arts Program of the Fiber Craft Studio located at the Threefold Educational Center in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Previously, she earned a BS in Human Development and Family Studies, an AAS degree in Early Childhood Education, and several related certificates. For 20+ years, she has volunteered and taught in a variety of settings including public schools, preschools, child development centers, and summer camps. She has been an advocate for “loose parts” and adventure play, and she has facilitated workshops for early childhood professionals and parents. In addition to her role at EWS, she can be found teaching Creative Classes and leading outreach events for The Scrap Exchange, a non-profit creative reuse arts center in Durham. Mrs. Ziegler also offers private handwork, crafts, and art instruction.
