As a performing and recording musician with over 25 years experience, Frank Alexander can still recall with fondness the memory of borrowing a guitar for his earliest lessons. Through the consistent and inspirational support of his sixth-grade music teacher Mr. Gale, a love for the instrument and of music was born that has stayed with him to this day. After completing three years of music theory, ear training, and jazz performance at Montgomery Junior College, Frank transferred to the University of Maryland College Park and performed regularly with jazz trios and big bands throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area throughout the 1990s. During this time he also accompanied and recorded with musical acts in styles ranging from rock, funk, R&B, and folk. In addition to teaching High School Guitar class at Emerson Waldorf, Frank currently divides his time privately teaching children and adults at the Musicians Learning Center in Raleigh and producing commercial cues and demo songs from his home studio.
