Morning Garden

For parents of 18 mos - 3 year olds

Morning Garden Program

Join Waldorf Trained Early Childhood Teacher, Sayler Shiningstar, or as the families call her, Ms. Sayler for a magical morning in the Nursery Classroom. These sessions are for parents with children 18 mos - 3 years of age. Parents can best support their unfolding capacities by the use of rhythm and routine that will be demonstrated in each class. Parents attend this program because they are primarily interested in learning more about the Waldorf approach to parenting. We will show you how a peaceful and calm atmosphere can help parents spend a quiet, nurturing time with their children which will strengthen your relationship and enhance your confidence as a parent.

While the children take time to socialize and engage in free play, adults will focus on being in the moment while setting the tone with meaningful activities. These activities allow your child to explore and begin the journey to free play. We will also spend time in outdoor play, facilitating the toddler's innate connection to the wonders of the natural world. Tips for care giving and parenting along with insights into child development will be demonstrated by Ms. Sayler. A homemade snack and a delightful ‘song and puppet story circle’ will be shared.

Care-giving grandparents are welcome to attend with their grandchild in a parent's stead. One parent or caregiver brings their toddler each week. The program is not intended for nannies and babysitters. It is preferable that the same caregiver attend each week. We are sorry that our space does not accommodate both parents or more than one caregiver per child. Twins are welcome and each child must be accompanied by an adult and the family would purchase 2 registrations. We would love to accommodate infant siblings, however, an important aspect of the program is spending quality time with your toddler; we will certainly consider your request.
